The Womanhood Collection explores natural states of being. Themes include fertility, love and loss, the ageing process, traditional family values, breast cancer, anxiety and trauma, sexuality and independence. Original poetry provides real insight into my own experiences to which the viewer can relate.

An experimental approach with unusual materials adds additional texture and interest - eroded fabrics, rubber, plastic, bubble-wrap, metallic scouring pads, coat pockets, cat hair, my own hair following chemotherapy, an old rubber water carrier from childhood camping holidays.

Traditional techniques are combined with padded and excavated structure to create 3D contoured surfaces with layered depth.
